Certified Translation of Official Foreign Court Orders
Many people don’t know that there are no certified or sworn translators in the UK. For the UK authorities to accept a certified German to English translations of foreign court orders, qualified translators and members of a professional institute like the Chartered Institute of Linguists or the Institute of Translation and Interpreting certify their own translations. These translations are then accepted by British courts, the Home Office and all other UK government bodies and by banks and other financial institutions for all requirements.
The Home Office and the courts approve certified translations of all official documents provided by professional translators resident in the UK provided:
- the translators are full members of an official professional language organisation, for example the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (ITI) and the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL).
- the translators work for a language company that is a member of the Association of Translation Companies.
